About the Author

Evonne Blanchard is the author of, Amelia, the Moochins and the Sapphire Palace, Amelia, the Venutons and the Golden Cage and Amelia, the Merballs and the Emerald Cannon. These are the first three books in Amelia’s Amazing Space Adventures Series; a series of ten exciting science fiction-fantasy books for children ages 6-10, set in outer space.

Evonne Blanchard grew up in England, where she developed a serious love for reading, writing, and anything involving space. She later met her American husband while they were both volunteering at a children’s orphanage in Guatemala, proving that real-life adventures can be just as surprising as space ones! Today, Evonne lives north of Boston, Massachusetts with her husband, and two daughters, Lydia and Gwendolyn.

Evonne has been space-obsessed since she was a kid, watching astronauts land on the Moon and wondering whether aliens exist and what they would it be like to meet one! As a teen, War of the Worlds became a favorite book, and Mars Attacks! is still her all-time favorite movie (the sillier the aliens, the better) in her opinion! When it came time to invent her own extraterrestrials, Evonne decided hers would be friendly, fuzzy, and a bit bonkers!

That’s how Uglesnoo was born—an adventurous and fun-loving alien from Pluto with a big heart and a sick sister who needs saving. Together with Amelia, he races across the Moon, the Sun, and every planet in the solar system to find a powerful crystal from Neptune—the only thing that can make his sister better. And so began Amelia’s Amazing Space Adventures, a series full of adventure, humor, friendship, bravery and plenty of crazy aliens!

Evonne is currently working on the fourth book in the series, Amelia, the Snapperjacks and the Molten Maze, set on the blazing hot Sun!
